Learning to See the Light

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

My heart is full of praise today.

If you have been following my last few posts you know I have been going through some really rough times.  I was so trapped in darkness that I couldn't see the light even if you shone a flashlight in my eyes.  As I write this post none of the circumstances have changed ... but my heart has.  God has given me victory over my fears, and I am at peace.

One of the tools God used to open my eyes was Jason Castro's song, Only a Mountain.  This (whatever you are facing right now) is only a mountain.  You don't have to find your way around it, just tell it to move.  God is BIGGER than any mountain that you face.  Please don't ever forget that!!!

Another thing that has helped me turn from fear to faith is focusing on God's Blessings.

Sometimes those blessings come in the form of things that didn't happen or we didn't receive.

641.   Not getting the full-time job I wanted
642.   Not starting college classes like I had planned
643.   Not having the ability to handle things on my own

Sometimes His Blessings come in the form of tangible gifts

644.   An uncle that answers the call for help
645.   AMAZING friends, too numerous to name in this list
646.   Fluffy puppies who know just when to give extra love

And other times the Blessings can't be touched or held, but they are felt in the heart

647.   Prayers from all around the world
648.   A chance for my voice to be heard
649.   Peace that passes all understanding
650.   My heavenly Advocate

What's on your list today?

  3. I have found that in the toughest times is the sweetest communion, and I think the moral of the story is that God wants us to be desperate for Him! Yet most times, when life is going well and as planned, we tend not to be. Keep being desperate ~ and gratefully seeking out the small, hidden, and unexpected blessings like you did here today!! ♥

  7. Hi Lisa,
    I will be lifting you up in prayer. Praising God and counting your blessings during storms sure does make a difference.

    I have been away form blogging for a while, but I am back now.

    Blessings,
    Ken
