We All Fall Short

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23

What were God's intentions when He created the Garden of Eden?  I think God intended for Adam and Eve (and all of us) to live there forever, walking in perfect communion with Him.  I believe that was His plan.... but He is God and He knew we would fall, so He sent His Son.

We all fall short of God's intentions for our lives.  Over and over we read in Scripture of God's plan for His people.  God gave the law, and we add to it or subtract from it to suit our needs.  God said, "Do not," the people did, and He redeemed.

We all fall short.  We use God's Words to judge or condemn others.  We focus more on what they are doing wrong than on what we are doing right.  Our first concern should be of what God thinks of us, not what God thinks of them.

Am I living to please God or am I just trying to be better than the next person?  Am I living true to who God called me to be?
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD.  And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’  The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  No other commandment is greater than these.”  Mark 12:29-31 NLT
What if we actually lived this way?  What if our primary concern was really loving God and loving others?  What a different place this world would be.

We all fall short.  But God so loved.

Father forgive me.....

Many blessings,

  1. What a beautiful post today. Thank you. Our sermone series has been along the lines of loving others too and Yes, I do fall short a lot of times. Thanking Him, for always giving me another chance to show some love to others!
