God assails me and tears me in his anger and gnashes his teeth at me;
my opponent fastens on me his piercing eyes. Job 16:9
Ever feel like this.... everything that could go wrong does go wrong. Things are so bad that it seems as if even God is against you. Job felt this way, and he wasn't afraid to tell God how he felt.
People talk about the patience of Job, but I see something else. I see a man who had a personal, intimate relationship with his Creator. Job knew God, so he was able to speak directly to Him. Because Job knew God, he understood something else: no matter what, God is our friend.
Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high.
My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God.
Job 16:19, 20
Job felt like God was being unfair, but he also knew that his only hope was in God, with God. God was his witness, his intercessor, and his friend. Sounds like how the New Testament describes Jesus.
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25
You can trust God; He is always your friend.
