Available for Use

I'm sure you are all familiar with toys like this one.  Every shape has a specific place, and the child needs to determine which shape will fit in which spot.

What happens if the child tries to put a shape in the wrong spot?  Frustration, anger, tension, tears.... no matter how much effort the child exerts, a square shape will not go into a round hole.

It's the same way in the spiritual.  Often we try to force our way with God.

There have been times in my life when I have manipulated things to work my way and the results have always been the same - frustration, tension, and more than a few tears.

You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!  Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, “He did not make me”?  Can the pot say of the potter, “He knows nothing”?  Isaiah 29:16 NIV

God has proven over and over again that His way is best.  When I let go and let Him have His way, He uses me in ways I never could have dreamed or imagined.  Nothing I can force is as beautiful as what God can do when I surrender to Him.

Today I want to encourage you to stop trying so hard.  God's promises are true and He always keeps His Word.  You can rest in the knowledge that what He says He will do.   All you have to do is yield to His Will.

Are you available for use today?

Many blessings,

  5. Lisa,

I have done this, enough times to know that forcing my own agenda only leads to frustration, tension, tears. He knows what is best, his burden is easy and his yoke is light. What He has for us is more beautiful than anything we can do on our own.

    Blessings to you Lisa.
