I'm Glad My Life Isn't Perfect

My life isn't perfect - far from it, actually.  That fact used to bother me, but now I've come to accept and appreciate this truth.  I understand that it's the little irritations that keep me close to God.  You see, I know me; I know that I can easily become content and take God's blessings for granted.  I need a little nudge, a gentle poke to get my eyes off my comfort and back on His Grace.

This week I am especially thankful for:
501.  God's Amazing Grace
502.  Watching my youngest son mature into a young man
503.  An open and honest talk with my husband, daughter and I
504.  Time on a Saturday to play and worship with my daughter
505.  Little irritations that draw me closer to God
506.  Shipment from Keurig with yummy coffee flavors
507.  A love for my husband that grows stronger everyday
508.  A shipment of car parts
509.  My daughter's van finally being fixed
510.  Getting my car back after my daughter driving it for a week
511.  Open windows in January
512.  New laptop to use in my role as church secretary
513.  Making plans for an upcoming vacation
514.  The second issue of Christian Women's Voice coming out February 15th
515.  Being loved - by my husband, my family, my friends, and especially my God.

What's on your list today?

  2. Beautiful list, sweet sister! It can be so easy to take God's blessings, big and small, for granted. I never want to do that. I want to count my blessings. I want to praise Him for every gift.

  6. Hi Lisa - its actually a relief to accept that I'm far from perfect and that in my imperfections, God's grace becomes a HUGE reality. I too am very grateful for His grace. Great reminder Lisa.

  7. Oh, I really need to find blessing in those open windows in January - I so miss my snow that I am miss the blessing! When my mom comes to visit, I always plan projects to give us something to talk about - I am an imperfect project that allows a conversation with the Father - and through that, I get to know Him so much better:)

  8. wonderful list sister. I'm glad my life isn't perfect either. It's the irritations, the things that go a little wonky during the day, these are the thinks that keep us praying. Love it!

  9. How I enjoy looking at everyone else's thankful lists! Imperfect, yes we are, but how wonderful that we know and love the Perfect One, and that one day we shall see Him face to face! Oh, Glorious Day that will be when we will not have to strive against our flesh!
