I don't know about you, but there are days when I feel like a battered ship, adrift at sea, tossed by the waves of life. There doesn't seem to be any safe harbor to anchor, no land in sight. As a good friend put it, sometimes it feels like "the world is just ganging up on my heart." It's in times like these that I cry, vent, kick a few things (things, not people) ..... and turn to God's Word. I wish I could say I always turn to God first, but sometimes I take a roundabout path to get to Him.
So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT
God's Promises Bring Hope
I try not to make promises that I don't intend to keep or that I can't keep, but I am human and sometimes break my word. Human promises often lead to disappointment; God's promises bring hope. What God says, He will do. "God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?" Numbers 23:19 NLT
God will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5 Nothing can separate us from God's love. Romans 8:38 God will be with us whether we walk through the waters or the fire. Isaiah 43:2 We can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13 God's grace is sufficient for us. 2 Corinthians 12:9 He renews our strength when we trust in Him. Isaiah 40:31 God wants to give us hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23 NLT
Which of God's promises are you standing on today?
