Psalm 63

Oh God, You are my God, not my stomach.

Earnestly I seek You, not food.

My soul thirsts for You, not human praise.

My body longs for You, not stuff.

Because Your love is better than fame and fortune,

my lips will glorify You, not myself.

On my bed I remember You, not my fears.

I think of You, not my bills, through the watches of the night.

Because You, not my assets, are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings.

My soul clings to You, not my stuff ; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 63

How would you fill in the blanks?

Many blessings,

  2. It's amazing, isn't it Lisa? We could play "Mad Libs" with so many passages in Scripture, and still have it be relevant. God's truths speak to us in so many ways...

Have a Blessed Weekend my friend!!

  6. Oh, I think you captured my thoughts to a "T"! Thank you for sharing! Such powerful truth and a great reminder for this season of an abundance of those "things" that we don't need to dwell on! Thank you!

  7. Lisa,

This week got a little hectic and I haven't been on the internet much, I have so missed reading your blog, I love your post today, it describes how we try to fill the God hole with things other than God Himself.

    Blessings to you Lisa.
