Human Point of View

From a human point of view, people are

        Successful
             Lazy
                 Wealthy
                        Poor
                             Beautiful
                                   Ugly
                                        Fat
                                            Athletic
                                                 Friendly
                                                       Loners
                                                             Unworthy

But from God's view point, there are only two kinds of people.

Lost and Found

Everyone we meet fits into one of these two categories.

If they are saved, then we are talking to our brother or sister.  If doesn't matter if they belong to a different church, if they dress differently than we do, or if we don't even know them.  Anyone who confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believes in their heart that God raised him from the dead is part of the family.  (Romans 10:9)  We should rejoice when we meet a fellow believer.

The only other kind of person is the one who is lost and looking for a Savior.  They may not know they are lost and they may not understand what (Who) they are searching for, but there's a hole inside each one of us that can only be filled by God.  When we encounter these people, we must remember that we are Christ's Ambassadors, and God is making His appeal through us.  We should be speaking for Christ, saying, "Come back to God!"

Do you see people through a human point of view or God's point of view?

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity

Many blessings,

  2. You are right, Lisa. We often get sidetracked or hung up on all the other stuff. But, really, this is what it comes down to...do we know Christ?

  3. So true. It can be so hard to not look with our human eyes. But all that matters is we were once lost and now were are found. We should look at others through the eyes of Christ.

  4. What a great word! It's so hard to not get caught up in all the ways that the world defines us! But you are right, God only sees us as lost or found - but either way, He loves and treasures us. Thanks for the wonderful reminder.

  6. Lisa,

I think this is quite possibly one of my favorite posts you have ever written, I always enjoy reading your posts, I still have so much to learn, and I learn so much from your blog, but this has to be one of my favorites so far, such a wise and wonderful perspective you shared, it makes me think of what the world would look like, how different it would be if we all looked at people this way.

    Blessing to you Lisa.

  8. I love that Brandon Heath song. Oh, to have those eyes. I'd probably be so shocked by what I'd really see.

Lost or found. I'm thankful to be one of the found. May I be convicted to use that status to show the Way to the lost....

    Thanks for this post.
