Still Searching

Have you ever struggled looking for something just to discover that what you needed was right there all along?

I don't know how many times I have panicked because I couldn't find my phone, only to discover it was in my hand - I had been talking on it.  Have you ever been searching for your sunglasses only to discover that they were on your head the whole time?  Or looked for your keys, which ended up being on the table right in front of you?

The high priests and religious leaders understood the scriptures.  They knew the prophesies of a Messiah, and they were searching, waiting, and watching for this Savior to come.

Then the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” Jesus said, "I Am."  Mark 14:61,62

These men were searching for a Savior, they needed a Savior; and here He stood, right in their home.

Sometimes the answer we need the most is standing right in front of us.

How many times do we struggle, looking for the answer?  We search everywhere for help when Jesus is right next to us saying, "I AM."

Jesus' answer to the high priest should have been cause for great celebration and rejoicing, but they choose to ignore the answer, and crucified Him instead.

What will you do when you find what you've been searching for?

  1. Great thoughts, Lisa. God sends us a Savior and instead of grabbing on with both hands we often get sidetracked and search for Him in all the wrong places.

  2. I have to "lol" because I put HGTV on my list too. :) I was writing last night as Jeremy was watching House Hunters.

There have been numerous times I have looked for something and it was right in front of me. There are also times I am searching for an answer and God is right there with one, if I'd onlyopen my eyes. Great post.

I love this, the Pharisees crucified the very One they were searching and waiting for, I don't know how many times I wasted time searching when what I needed was right in front of my face.
