Perishable Things

I tell you the truth, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs.  But don't be so concerned about perishable things like food.  Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you.
John 6:26,27

Jesus doesn't want us to be concerned with perishable things like food, but instead, to be concerned only with Him, our Daily Bread.  I'm posting over at Woman to Woman today; won't you join me?

Many blessings,

  1. The caved in dilapidated barn reminds me of filling our storehouses with perishable things...perfect visual. Excellent Verse!

  2. Such a wonderful reminder to me this morning! Beautiful image to go along with this verse. I'll have to link over to Woman to Woman.

    Blessings and love,

  3. Hi Lisa - this post and your one at woman to woman, is a double dose of encouragement to think on eternal things. Good
    God bless

  4. He is my daily bread. The only truly satisfying thing there is.

  5. Have been watching British TV programs called "House in the Country" and the number of Barn Conversions and planning permits for restoring visions such as that one amaze me. Yet God is an even greater restorer of lives.

  6. Great picture and awesome Word Lisa... He is my daily bread!

  7. What a great visual to go with this verse! I pray I only store up treasures in heaven!

  8. Love this verse (and the pic). I tend to think if we satisfy ourselves with Him, He will be faithful to His word and supply all of our true needs...

  9. What an excellent picture to go with that verse! Great reminder. Thanks!

  10. Lisa,

I love the imagery, to concerned with only my eternal life, and being obedient to Him and Let God take care of the rest.

    Blessings to you Lisa.

  11. Such a wonderful photo choice Lisa, and so fitting for the verse. In the end, the only true concern we should have is that of our eternal life, not of the transient things around us.

    Have a Blessed Day!
