Not a Fairy Tale

I'm linking up with The Gypsy Mama today for Five Minute FridayThe goal is to write for 5 minutes with no editing, over thinking, or backtracking.  Today's prompt is:  In Real Life

Growing up, all I ever wanted to be was a wife and a mother.  As a teenager I prayed that God would give me a husband just like my dad.  I wanted a man who loved and provided for his family.  A man who could fix a drippy faucet, change the oil in the car, hang a new light fixture, and even cook a meal or two.

I've never really been into romantic movies, and never dreamed of a Prince Charming.  I didn't want a knight in shining armor to come in and rescue me, I just wanted a man who loved God and loved me - in that order.

22 years ago today God answered that prayer.  I married the man of my prayers and dreams - in real life.

 Many blessings,
