An Inconvenient Truth

I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.  They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 2 Peter 3:3-5

The world is full of scoffers today.  These people want to live life their own way, on their own terms.  They believe in only what they can see with their own eyes, and their motto seems to be "Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." (Luke 12:19)

For many, the fact that there is a God is an inconvenient truth.

Just because Jesus hasn't returned yet doesn't mean He's not going to.  God's time is not the same as ours.  The Bible says, "for with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day."  2 Peter 3:8

God is not slow in keeping His promises; He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish.

God loves you.  He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for your sins.  Jesus died, rose again, and is now seated in Heaven.  One day He will return to take His children home.

There is a God!

Is this fact an inconvenient truth or your blessed assurance?

Many blessings,

  5. Hi Lisa - Blessed assurance!!! Imagine living in today's world and knowing there is nothing to live for - you just live and then....you die. Not us, we are living to live with Him in all eternity. Lovely inspiring post.
    God bless
