How fitting that the prompt for today is growing, since our family is expanding. Last night my daughter dropped off another cat for us to love. We certainly were not looking for another pet, but I must say this is the sweetest little kitten I have ever met.
The prompt is also fitting because there has been a lot of growing going on in my heart too. Stretching, changing, molding, reshaping, editing, growing - God has been doing a lot of work lately. He's been working on those parts of my life that still look too much like me and changing them to look more like Him.
God has been growing my understanding of what it means to be a disciple. He's revealed that there's still too much Pharisee in me.
You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. John 5:39-40
God is also growing my understanding of true worship, praise, love, and acceptance.
How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God? John 5:44
Yep, there's a lot of growing going on over here. But as long as I'm growing closer to God and His amazing love, it's all good.
