Don’t worry about anything; INSTEAD, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (emphasis mine)
Those six little words God has been speaking to me fit perfectly with the message we heard at church on Sunday - Don't worry, just pray.
God doesn't want us to worry; He tells us that in the scripture above. But He doesn't just leave it at that. Instead of worrying, He tells us to pray. And He tells us to pray about EVERYTHING.
Running late for work due to traffic? Don't worry, just pray.
Lost your car keys? Don't worry, just pray.
Bad report at the doctor? Don't worry, just pray.
Just lost your job? Don't worry, just pray.
Having trouble sleeping? Baby won't stop crying? Family pet is sick? Not enough money to pay the bills? Toilet is overflowing?
Don't worry, just pray!
When we pray, things change.
Sometimes prayer brings about a change in our circumstances, but prayer always brings about a change in our hearts.
THEN you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
So . . .
The next time you are faced with a troubling situation, whether big or small, remember God's Word and Don't Worry, just pray.

ReplyDeleteGreat reminder, Lisa. Not sure why this is SO HARD to remember to do. Prayer will put things into perspective for us...even we will only remember to do it!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I agree with Eileen. We know this, but why do we not do it. Don't worry just pray!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa - great word for today. Don't worry, just pray. Seems so nonchalant, when in fact it is the BEST thing to do in any circumstance.
ReplyDeleteGod bless

Such a wonderful message Lisa, and once again, exactly what I needed to hear this evening... Is God talking to you about me? :-)
