There's No Place Like Home

If you're here from Beholding Glory for the brag on God link up, you can read that post HERE.

Today, I am linking up with The Gypsy Mama and participating in Five Minute Friday. The topic today is HOME.

The place where I am most comfortable to be me.  I can laugh and be silly.  I don't have to look good and my clothes don't have to match.  Home is more than a building; it's a place in the heart.  Wherever I can be with my family, including the furry members, is home to me.

I want my home to be welcoming, fun, safe, relaxing, exciting, peaceful, calm, loud, alive and inviting all at the same time.  It may not always be clean and perfectly decorated, but it's where I feel at home.

I'm so thankful that I can feel at home with Jesus.  In His presence I feel all those things I want to find in my earthly home.  He makes me feel safe, peaceful, alive and excited.  God is my shelter from the storms of this life.  And I know He is preparing a new home for me where I will spend eternity with Him.

What does Home mean to you?

  1. Beautiful thoughts Lisa! I love your list of what makes a home a home. Loud yet true. And I am so glad to be at home with Jesus too. :)

  2. Great post. To me, like the saying goes, home is where the heart is. No matter where I am or what I am doing, home is where my heart remains. Home is family, laughter, hugs, kisses, comfort, peace, prayer, meal times, and love.

  3. Following the Gypsy Momma's step #3, I'm leaving you some encouragement as I was the one who linked directly after you.

I love all the different adjectives you used, especially the contrasting and opposite ones in the same sentence. And I hear you about it not always being clean and perfectly decorated!

  4. Visiting from Five Minute Friday ... enjoyed reading your thoughts on "home". And yes ... so amazingly wonderful that we can be at home with Jesus here on earth, a taste of being in our forever home.

  5. Lisa,
Wonderful words indeed. I am so thankful for Jesus building me a new home and for His presence in my live.

    God bless,
