Talking Tuesdays

Last week I wrote that I felt like my comfort zone was shrinking.  God has been calling me out and today I got the opportunity to walk out my faith.  I got together we three sweet sisters and we hit the streets.  We walked through our downtown area handing out flowers to the women.  Each flower had a scripture tied to the stem reminding the women that God loves them and thinks they are beautiful.  We also handed out cards inviting people to come to our church on Sunday morning for free coffee, donuts and bottled water.  These were just little things to show the love of Jesus and open the door for conversation.

What are some ways you have found to share the Gospel with others?  I want to start talking about this on Tuesdays.  As Christians, we are ALL called to go out.  Yesterday, I read Ken's post about witnessing.  He talked about witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses and gave links to a couple other blogs about witnessing.  How are you sharing God's love with those around you?  Leave a comment and let us know what you have done.  If you have written a post about witnessing, leave a link to that post in your comment so we can read it

Let's start talking about sharing Jesus, then let's go out and do it!

Many blessings,

  2. Oh my goodness, I totally love that you did that, and I love that you stepped out of your comfort zone to reach the world with the message of Jesus. Now that I know you will be doing this on Tuesdays it will motivate me to get out there so I have something to share.

    Blessings to you Lisa!

  3. Hi Lisa. I need to check out where I'm needed in my church and community. Always seems to be other priorities but you are very right - we are all called to go out. Thanks for the nudge.
    God bless

  4. Our church handed out "generosity" cards a couple Sunday's ago. It's simply a card that you hand to your restaurant server or the cashier at the drive thru and anonymously pay for someones meal. It is so much fun to do. The card has the verse, "Freely we have received, freely we give" printed on it.
    Great idea with the flowers!

  5. I must confess that I am not a very 'vocal' witness. I feel like I'll say the wrong thing or something. I am an 'active' witness....HHMMM think I may do a post on this :)

  6. Sounds like a great way to spread God's love Lisa!

Last week, Jonathan and I helped out at a totally free car wash the church was holding. We washed cars, and handed out cards about the church to those who showed up. :-)

    Have a Blessed Day!

  7. Thank you Lisa for this witnessing post and also refrencing my blog. Yes, all of us Christians are called to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we go out knocking on doors we usually start the conversation by saying "we are in the neighborhood inviting people to church, can we leave you some information?" It is a non threatening ice breaker and even people who are not interested do not take offence. After this, if they are willing to talk, we then share the message of salvation with them.

God bless and keep reaching out to the lost.

    Ken
