The Right Report

The LORD said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites."  Exodus 13:1-2

The people gave Moses this account:  "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey!  Here is its fruit.  But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large... We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."  Exodus 13:27, 31

The land of Canaan had been promised to the Israelites since God told Abraham to leave his country and settle there.  (Genesis 12:1-5)  When God sent Moses back to Egypt, He instructed Moses to say to the Israelites, "I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites ... a land flowing with milk and honey."  (Exodus 3:15-17)  Now the Israelites finally reach the land promised to them over and over again.  The Lord is saying the land is yours and the 10 spies are saying we can't live there.  Which report is right?

God has said that He will heal you.  Not only does His Word say so (Isaiah 53:4), but God also spoke to your heart and said you will be healed.  You go to the doctor and the x-rays and lab work say otherwise.  Which report is right?

The Bible says that God will supply all our needs (Phil. 4:19), but you just lost your source of income.  Which report is right?

God promises to bless us when we tithe. (Malachi 3:10)   You trusted Him and gave your money, but now your bank balance shows not enough money to pay the bills.  Which report is right?

The Word says that we can do everything through Him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13), but your family says you can't accomplish anything.  Which report is right?

We have an enemy who wants to see us fall.  He likes to whisper those message of defeat and failure.  But God has said that we are overcomers (1 John 5:4) and that He has a plan to prosper us (Jeremiah 29:11).  When we feel weak, He will renew our strength (Isaiah 40:29), and He will never forsake us (Psalm 27:25)

So which report will you believe?   I will believe the report of the LORD!!!

Memorizing James
If you are taking part in the challenge to memorize the entire book of James this year, you will need to memorize two verses each week. This week's verses are:
James 1:17-18
17.  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

18.  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruit of all he created.

  1. Oh, what an awesome post. I believe what I have been told in the Word of God. When doubt comes all we have to do is talk to God and get the answer of reassurance. I may have to eat those words but they will be sweet as honey. I know satan doesn't want us to believe the Word but we just need to be persistant in believing God and His word. Thanks for a great post and the reminder. Blessings to you.

  2. I will believe the report of the LORD!

Sometimes it is a battle to believe the Lord. Satan whispers horrible things to us and he can sound so convincing. But we must stand on the promises of the Lord!

I struggle with this sometimes...when it pertains to ME. I have NO trouble believing the report of the Lord when related to others but I truly have a difficult time believing that it all works for me, too! However, I will believe the report of the LORD!!!

  4. I go along with Debi, especially when it comes to me. That is why I said I might have to eat my words. Satan will try anything to put doubt in our mind but I will believe the Lord. I just love this post, it is awesome. Blessings to you.

  5. Excellent post! God is faithful. Period. Our faith is sometimes shaken because things happen that don't seem to add up. But once again, God sees the whole picture. Our perspective is so limited and sometimes we just need to trust. His report is always the accurate one!

  6. WOW! God is bigger than anyting and we say we believe and trust God. But the temptation sure is strong to believe the opposite. Thank you for sharing this most needed post.
    May God bless you Lisa

  7. I love the back-and-forth examples Lisa. We've all certainly been in positions where we know what God's Word tells us, yet moments of fear and doubt open the door for satan's whisperings of failure.

We need to all choose to place our trust in God's Report!

    Have a Blessed Day!

  8. Loved you scriptual thoughts today. I too believe and have faith that God will provide a way to give to us all he has promised; if we just do our part. Usually for me I will ask for a blessing and it is often given in a different way than I thought it would be and it is usally better; or a great lesson will be learned by that answer.

  9. Hmmm...I think I'll take the Lord report, please!
Satan tries to give us false reports at every turn...but the truth is in His word, we just have to choose to believe it!

  11. Took my wife to the doctor yesterday with severe abdomen pains. Enemy says it's cancer like her 2 aunts and an uncle died from.

Today we find insects on an around our bed. The enemy says bedbugs.

True report: Intestine infection, antibiotics will cure.

True report: Carpet beetles, no bites, a little bug spray will cure.

Let me say it plainly. Satan, you're a damned liar!
